Inspiration Workshop #7

Hi Friends. Linking up to Gussy Sews for this weeks Inpsiration Workshop!
The prompt you ask?

Sunshine!
Perfect for these lovely sunshiny (yes thats a word) summer days.

I sing this little song

to this little ray of sunshine
each and every day. So of course she was my inspiration for this prompt!
We really are enjoying spending all of our time outside.
And isn't she just so darn cute!!!

Phone Photo Friday

Welcome to Friday friends! I am so ready for this (long) weekend. Any fun plans for the 4th??

All my phone pics this week are from the village Garden Walk my mom and I attended on Saturday. Basically, people who have beautiful gardens open up their yards for the day so people like me can walk through and see what they got.

One woman had made a meditation garden in her backyard:

Inspiration Workshop #5

I'm joining Gussy Sews for week #5 of her Inspiration Workshop! I've had so much fun doing this every week and also seeing how everyone else interprets the prompt and the pictures they post. This week's prompt is BATHROOMS.

I rarely show off my master bathroom. We have yet to redo it since we moved in 2 years ago and it is U.G.L.Y! Think carpet on the floors and sponge painted walls ugly. Well we have been slowly collecting things over the past few months to finally make this bathroom ours and get it out of the 80s. Here are some bathrooms that I wouldn't mind spending some time in :)

I love the tiled walls and bathtub of this one:

I love the color in this one, its so bright and cheery:

A Love Story

This is us - First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in a baby carrage...

Let's go back to June 2003: Boy meets girl (girls meets boy)
Boy likes girl (and girl likes boy)
Boy and girl start dating

Fast forward to February 2006: Boy asks girl to marry him (girl says yes!)

December 2006: Boy and girl buy first house

June 2007: Boy and girl get married!

January 2008: Boy and girl get a dog (Lola- she's a fun little spitfire)

June 2009: Boy and girl move out of first house

July 2009: Boy and girl move in to new house
New house is perfect size, in a quiet neighborhood, great school disctrict...hmm perfect for a family

August 2009: Boy and girl find out girl is pregnant!!!

April 2010: Boy and girl welcome sweet baby girl into their lives (by far the most perfect, rewarding day they have experienced thus far)

Today, June 29, 2011: Boy and girl celebrate 4th Anniversary

This is us folks. What a wild ride we are on. But its a rollercoaster we are not looking to get off anytime soon. Little one keeps us on our toes. She is learning something new everyday...and teaching us along the way too. And we are still learning from each other as well.
My husband is by far more than I could have every imagined. He does so much for us and loves me through all of my faults.

I love you Jeff more and more every day! Thank you for everything you have done for me and everything you have given me. I love our life and I love spending every single day with you. I can't wait to add more to our story.

Happy Anniversary to the man of my dreams!

My new skills

Back in May (yes I am finally getting to write about it!) I decided to do something that I've wanted to do for so long. I tried teaching myself calligraphy when I was planning our wedding but it never quite worked out. So I finally took a calligraphy class through community ed at a local high school. My crafty friend Kelly and I signed up together and got to spend some girl time being creative. It was once a week for six weeks and it was so much fun! I cannot believe how much I learned in six weeks. Really, you should have seen some of my work week 1...HORRID! The instructor is going to be offering another class in the fall and teaching a different technique so we will be making sure we sign up for that one as well.

Remember this picture from yesterday??

Invites for my grandma's birthday had to be sent out right after the last week of class so I practiced extra hard and decided to use my new found skills to add a special touch to the invitations for her special birthday. I knew trying to use calligraphy for the envelopes would be way too much for me. So I decided to just write her name on the actual invites.
See! I did that!!!
Proud of myself, can't you tell??

A Birthday Invitation

This coming Saturday we will be celebrating my grandmother's 90th birthday! I'm so excited to spend this time with my family and honor 90 years of my grandmother's beautiful life.
I had the pleasure of making the invitations with the only instruction being the colors sage green and purple.

I absolutely love how they turned out. I love the doily! Definitely going to be using this design again.
